In the Gospel of John, we learn something about Jesus that we don’t learn anywhere else in scripture. John 11:35 says, “Jesus wept.” Yes, Beloved, Jesus knows what it’s like for the moments of life to make you cry. We’ve all had those moments. And it’s okay. “Grief,” as one scholar says, “is simply us loving our loved ones in a different way.” Grieving is a natural part of life. And at the same time, it is possible to do so in a healthy way. I want to invite you to our first Blue Christmas Prayer Breakfast on Saturday, December 6, 2025 @ 10AM. We will gather for fellowship and a time of being poured into by Dr. Deborah Haskins, a licensed clinical professional counselor and grief specialist. Dr. Haskins is also the widow of a pastor in our conference, the late Rev. Dr. Bruce Haskins. We will be blessed through Dr. Haskins’ ministry of teaching, and her personal testimony around dealing with grief is comforting. We will also honor the memories of those we have lost.
